As the school year approaches, parents are helping their children prepare for classes while trying to purchase all necessary supplies. However, unfortunately, many schools and families cannot afford these school supplies due to difficult financial situations.
On August 12th, 2017, ICNA Relief CO, as part the ICNA Relief National Back 2 School Giveaway, has partnered with Colorado Coalition for the Homeless to supply 200 or more kids who are homeless or in transitional housing with supplies they need to go back to school. The Coalition has arranged the vaccinations, health checkup, dental checkup etc at the location. ICNA Relief has provided the school supplies for the planned 200 kids. This project is an embodiment of the teachings of Islam, as the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) himself said “Whoever goes to bed while his neighbor is hungry is not a true believer”.
